On Tuesday, the Royals announced their promotions for the
upcoming season, and it’s safe to say that there will be a big crowd
June 8 at Kauffman Stadium.
The Astros are in town, but it’s the Retro Powder Blue Jersey giveaway that will pack them in. The first 10,000 fans will receive the jerseys, and if history is any guide, fans will get to the park early to snag a jersey.
Other notable promotions:
For the May 4 game against the White Sox, the first 10,000 fans will receive a Billy Butler Bobblehead that will commemorate his winning the 2012 Silver Slugger Award. The team also will have three separate days in which it will give fans a bobblehead from the participants in the Hot Dog Derby Race: Ketchup, Mustard and Relish.
Mother’s Day is May 12, and the Royals will have a special giveaway before the game against the Yankees. The first 10,000 women will receive a Royals Pashmina Scarf.
On July 19, the Celebrity Classic Game will be held. Local celebrities Paul Rudd, Rob Riggle and Jason Sudeikis will play host to the annual Big Slick Celebrity Classic Game at The Little K before the Royals face the Detroit Tigers.
The Salute to the Negro Leagues is Aug. 24 when the Royals face the Nationals. The Royals will wear Kansas City Monarchs uniforms and the Nationals will don jerseys from the Washington Homestead Grays. The first 10,000 fans will be given a Kansas City Monarchs Vintage T-Shirt.
T-Shirt Tuesdays are back also. The six days are May 28, June 4, June 25, July 23, Aug. 13 and Sept. 17.
Buck Night, Family Fun Night and Firework Fridays all return as well. Go to Royals.com/promotions for more details.
