4 Tips To Discovering Greatness

This is a topic I've been wanting to share because I feel it's important so if you have a moment I would like to share my thoughts with you. I have a question for you. Do you know what your truly gifted at? Many of us go our entire lives without discovering our true potential. Each one of us has a purpose in life. Whether it be to perform a major operation and save a life or to paint the next great masterpiece and bring beauty into the world, I believe that each and every one of us is here for a reason. We each make our own contribution to the world be it a positive one or negative. And guess what? Just because  your gift is not well recognized like say being an NBA player for example, doesn't mean it's any less important. It can be something as simple as making people smile when you enter a room or the ability to be open minded to others. There's some people who recognize their talent but feel it's nothing substantial. Then there's others who never really take the time to find out who they really are and what their purpose is in life. Sadly, there are many who could end up being major successes, but never pursued their dream. If you want to find out what it is your good at, there's a few things you must consider.

1. You Are Good Enough - It begins with self esteem. Never use the word "can't." When you tell yourself you can't do something you automatically shut your mind off to any possibilities of succeeding which means the mind will not ponder ways of discovering how you "can." I use to have this problem when I was younger. I wasn't the most popular kid in school and I stayed to myself a lot. My mentality was one of hopelessness and despair and  I told myself I wouldn't amount to anything much. But you have to break away from that. There will always be someone to tell you that you won't be able to achieve something and it's only a pipe dream. They never tried so they don't want you to try to succeed either. You also don't want to compare your life to someone else. You don't know what they had to go through to get where they are. Nothing worthwhile is easily obtainable in life.

2. Motivation -  Life is hard and the odds seem to be against you constantly. Believe me I know, but you have to be motivated. Without a sense of ambition, you won't have the drive needed to discover your potential. A great way to motivate yourself  is to read or watch success stories of people who were in the same position your in and ended up succeeding. Another great way is to read self help literature. Don't laugh! These books can be very helpful. Two books I recommend are Self-Esteem: A Proven Program of Cognitive Techniques, and Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

3. Explore -  Now that your feeling good about yourself and leaning more towards "can" rather than "cannot," it's time to find out exactly what it is you want to do. This is going to take some time and soul searching. What do you enjoy the most? What were some interests that you had growing up? Any curiosities you might have had that you just let drift away from your mind instead of pondering? Maybe you know what your good at but just never had the drive to excel in it. Or maybe certain circumstances in your life didn't allow you to pursue your dream which happens quite often. Just remember the old cliche, "when there's a will, there's a way." And if you don't believe me consider this scenario. Tyler Perry was a homeless man sleeping on the streets before he became what he is today. How did he do it? Strong motivation and a determination not to let his circumstances get the best of him.

If you don't know where to start, a good idea would be to take a piece of paper and jot down everything you think you might have an interest in. Then one at a time explore those interests. Research them and give them a try. You'd be surprised at what you end up enjoying! Once you find something, put everything you have into it and do your very best.

4. Maintain - One of the toughest things to deal with when pursuing something is to maintain motivation. There's always going to be speed bumps and failures along the way. You can't succeed without failure. I've had three unsuccessful businesses before I started Face It Figures! You have to be determined no matter what the cost. Try to keep positive people around you and go back to those success stories you've read when you feel you can't go on. Just keep trying.

In conclusion, everyone has a purpose but it's up to you to discover it or improve upon it. If you have the gift of making people happy when their in your company, then hold on to that positive energy. You may not think it's much but if you can wake up and know your making people happy your making a difference in the world. That's one less person walking around miserable everyday. If your good at drawing, see how far you can go with it and let others enjoy your work. Everyone has a unique quality and the bottom line is that you have to take one day at a time and try to remain positive.

Feel free to share your thoughts on this topic!

Perfect Customer Service, Really?

Let's be honest, although we strive to offer the best in customer service and value for your buck, there's always room for improvement. The company that tells you that their service and overall business performance is sheer perfection is not exactly being honest. The simple fact is that theirs always room for improvement. ALWAYS. It's an ongoing experience that takes learning from your mistakes and understanding what exactly are the needs of the customer.

It's not a wham, bam sell the product, get you out situation. You have to really put yourself in the customer's shoes. For example, your up early ready to head to this new (unanimous coffee shop) to get your morning cup of java. Your not really in the best of moods today because number one, it's early. Number two, you know you have a very busy day ahead of you that your not looking forward to. So you head inside (the unanimous coffee shop) and the place is not very inviting and the staff aren't very friendly. But you need your coffee so you continue to approach the counter. The employee asks you what you want in a very dry tone, you order and the employee hands you your coffee without so much as a "have a nice day" or "thanks for your business." Fine. You hop in your car and drive a ways taking your first sip of coffee. It's watered down and has an off taste to it! Not a good way to start what is to be a very trying day. Now everyone has days where their not themselves or it's not business as usual, but if you decided to return to that shop and had the same experience, would you go a third time? Maybe, maybe not.

The point is that all businesses have flaws that need to be addressed. We believe that the customer deserves more one on one attention to ensure them that their making the right decision in doing business with us. Also, the product should be the best quality possible and the customer should never have to just settle for a purchase but to be absolutely thrilled with it. Especially since our products can be a timely process to deliver and can be frustrating at times waiting for it's arrival. Having to wait for an order and at the same time dealing with poor service is not a good mix.

That being said, you told us what your concerns are with your overall experience and we listened. Here's what we heard:

1. Likeness - Most people absolutely love our custom bobbleheads and figurines. But then there are some who believe they need to have more resemblance. We work with some of the best artists artists in the world who have gone through vigorous training to sculpt these dolls. These are meant to be humorous caricature pieces and are not meant to be exact replicas of  a person. That does not mean that we don't take this request into consideration. We want everyone to be happy. So we've brought more artists on board with a slightly different style than our previous bobbleheads. Remember, these are made based on only a  photo which is different from having the person actually there. We continue to strive to capture more facial features.

2. Pricing - This can be quite pricey we know, but keep in mind that these are hand painted and sculpted. These take literally hours just to create one piece not including any revisions. Plus, their made to order and are not stocked. Each piece is different and involves a different approach to creation. We now offer 5.75" bobbleheads available for $79.99.

3. Time - On average it takes about 3 to 4 weeks to create a bobblehead. Not much can be done to speed the process up because it simply takes time to get them right. We suggest you decide exactly how you would like your order to be made before production. That avoids having to go back and redo something which means added time. Also, proofs should be responded to in a timely matter. We do have rush options available meaning your order would jump the queue and become top priority over other orders.

We truly appreciate your business and want you to be as happy receiving them as we our creating them. I mean, who doesn't love bobble heads?!  We are always willing to hear any questions or concerns you may have because you help make us better. We're not perfect, but we strive to be the best at what we do. Thanks again and remember to be the bobble!

New Updates, New Bobbleheads

It's been a very busy couple of weeks here at Face It Figures. We've put our heads together to come up with ways to improve shopping experience and offer more to the table. We want you to be completely satisfied with the entire process from start to finish. That being said, we've heard your comments and suggestions and are ready to deliver. So here's whats new:

1. Storefront design changes and easier navigation - The store needed a few updates so we changed a few colors and fonts along with minor layout changes. No big deal, right? Okay. We then changed our categories for an easier browsing experience. Both male and female bobbleheads have their own separate sub categories instead of being mixed together. This should help you find what you need much quicker.

2.  We've made the ordering process easier - We were told that the the order process was confusing so we made it easier to choose your bobblehead or figurine, add your accessories and special requests.

If you think those changes are great, wait until you hear this!

Happy Birthday Bobblehead

The Avengers Are Finally Here With Collectible Bobblehead Dolls

THE AVENGERS MOVIE

One of the most anticipated films of the year is finally here and with it comes a vast assortment of characters form the Marvel Universe. If your a fan, then your in for a real treat.

Here are a few of the characters from the film:

How's that for the ultimate superhero movie? And if that doesn't impress you, check out this interesting fact:

The Avengers tracked ahead of 2008's The Dark Knight ($158.4 million) and 2012's The Hunger Games ($152.5 million), which held the record for the second and third best opening weekends behind 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 ($169.2 million). On MovieTickets.com, North American ticket presales during the week before release exceeded those of Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Thor combined during the same period, by over 150 percent. As of May 8, 2012, The Avengers has earned $244,014,897 in North America and $500,100,000 in other countries for a worldwide total of 744,114,897 marking the highest grossing film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its worldwide opening of $392.5 million is the third largest of all time.

That's impressive! So here's a quick breakdown of the story.  Nick Fury (played once again by the note-perfect Samuel L. Jackson), leader of the peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury, along with former Russian spy Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), recruits a super team to combat Thor's ever-deceptive brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) after he brainwashes ace archer Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) while stealing a cosmic cube from an underground base. Thus the heroes must learn to work together alongside outlaw scientist Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), who can track down the artifact's gamma signals when he's not hulking out into a giant green monster. It all comes down to a superhero battle royale as they try to save the world from destruction.

With most big box office movies comes collectible merchandise. And of course, I could not end this post without mentioning the new pre-orders for The Avengers movie bobbleheads released by non other than the good folks at Neca. That's right, their all here. Here's a exclusive preview of what's to come.
